Happiness Through The Self

Happiness Through The Self

There is a happiness that is available to each and every one of us, a happiness that is not attached to anything outside of ourselves but instead, is experienced by knowing who we are; eternal consciousness. Yes, we experience happiness when we’re with family and friends, when we make that much desired purchase or take that much needed vacation. But that happiness, as great as it is to feel, is temporary in that it’s based in doing, or having an outward experience. And there’s nothing wrong with that whatsoever. But know that there is an inward experience of happiness available to us, one connected to inner harmony and joy that is an extension of our inner being.

Coming from the awareness of our spiritual, highest self, this happiness is an expression of knowing who we are beyond the ego with all its attachments and the physical body. It’s also a reflection of the safety that is experienced by understanding that we are unconditionally loved and cared for by Source. Being spontaneous in nature, the soul will express this incredibly high vibration throughout the day; at times it’s just a quiet melody in the background and at others, a more profound experience.

Being consciously connected with the Source within, through the present moment, the mind is quieted, allowing for inner stillness to be the main experience. And through stillness, through that clear channel, soul expressions like gratitude, joy and the happiness that is being describes are allowed to come to life through non-resistance. Being deeply centered in the now, one escapes the lower frequencies of the past and future, allowing one’s true consciousness to shine through, the mind of Source Energy.

Through the Self, non-attached happiness is unaffected by the outer world, by circumstances. In this awareness one accepts the moment as it is, through developed faith and trust. In this state, one has surrendered and abandoned oneself to Life; to Source Energy. The understanding is that all is well. One knows that life is always working out, that things are unfolding for one’s highest good.

Happiness through the Self is a result of spiritual growth and self-responsibility. Incredibly empowering, approaching relationships through this awareness allows others to be who they are without judgment. Placing happiness in our own hands, it cannot be taken away by others; this, in effect, is a conscious approach to sharing our lives with others.

Knowing who we are in Source, and what we’re not (the ego) we can through the space of stillness detach from the suffering that comes with the thinking mind. Through expanded awareness, one has clear sight, able to observe and witness the egoic mind rather than react to it. Being aware of the soul and its multidimensionality, one has access to higher dimensions of consciousness and understanding.

Being happy just for being, is a potential within us all; it’s a conscious choice. And the more one chooses happiness, the more you allow life to give you reasons to be happy. It’s an awareness that one doesn’t have to wait for circumstances to change but instead, it’s an inner knowing that the outer world changes when the inner does. Everything is a reflection; and our inner happiness has the potential to extend outwardly, positively impacting our lives and the lives of those around us.

The Restorative Power of Inner Stillness

Inner Stillness

People do all sorts of things to relax, they listen to music, go for walks, read books, go for a long drive. That “doingness” can place one in a temporary state, an altered state of consciousness. By changing focus, and letting go, our awareness can transcend the thinking mind and all the thoughts of the day. But did you know you could enter this deep state of relaxation, of inner peace and calm through awareness and the mental action of being present? By being, being present, in this moment, bringing all your attention inward, you can merge your awareness with the universal flow of stillness and become one with its restorative properties.

Healing. Oneness. Peace. Calm. Quiet. Awareness. Balance. Harmony. These are just a few of the potentials that are found within inner stillness. It can’t be added to you, it’s your soul’s essence. You can’t get there; you can only realize it. The power in stillness is based in universal energy and by getting into that gap of nothingness we allow emotions to be dissolved in the presence of un-conditional love. Healing in every way, stillness renews our minds and restores our energy.

This state of “no mind” is where we connect with our authentic self, transcend fears and allow for expansion of consciousness. The challenge in describing the unimaginable power and potential in stillness is that I’m using form (words) to describe that which is formless. A return to unity, the experience of inner stillness is one of mind, body and soul. And through that centeredness, our energy flows, no longer dispersed by the ego and its distractions.

Being conscious of the experience of stillness takes it to an entirely new level. It’s one thing to just move into that space through the listening of music for example, unaware of what this frequency really is, and it’s a whole other ball game when one is conscious and aware of being immersed in it. Recognizing stillness, being in tune with the Presence within, is absolutely transformative. In other words, awareness is key. Understanding the positive effects of stillness makes the potentials in it a possibility, including spontaneous healing.

Inner stillness is restorative in every way. It’s the inner balance that we all seek, the frequency that soothes us and heals the separation between us and Source Energy. There are no walls in stillness, no divides, no conflict and no fear. It’s freedom in essence; freedom from everything that is of this world. Because it’s other-dimensional in nature, it reminds us of who we are and where we really come from.

Here are some tips and insights to help guide you in shifting into the frequency of inner stillness:

  • Inner stillness is only blanketed by the thinking mind; and as one quiets the mind, say through meditation, stillness is allowed to unfold in our minds.
  • You don’t acquire inner stillness, you realize it.
  • The present moment is where the clarity of stillness is encountered.
  • Inner stillness is not transient in nature; it’s unchanging and eternal.
  • Anything and everything can be made a meditation and because of that we can integrate our beingness with doing.
  • Stillness is a reflection of our inner most self. It’s who we are in essence.
  • The potential in stillness is beyond words; all things are possible when you are one with this frequency.

Becoming aware of inner stillness and what it’s capable of is the first step in experiencing it directly and consciously. Knowing that there is an awareness beyond the thinking mind creates the potential of a shift, one in consciousness. Stillness is healing, restorative because it’s the frequency of unconditional love, and because of that, it can produce miracles in our lives given the opportunity.

A Deeper Look At Life, Death And Meaning

A Deeper Look At Life, Death And Meaning

In this article we’re going to go beyond the surface of life, look at death from a quantum field point of view and tie it all together with a spiritual perspective on meaning. Let’s start by asking ourselves this question: “what does life mean to me?” A deep question, but one that could lead us to some answers. An even deeper question to ask oneself is, “what’s my purpose in life?” Shifting gears to life’s seeming opposite, death, may bring up questions such as, “what is death?” Or, “What’s the purpose in death, why do we die?” Looking at both of these enigmas in a broad sense, one may ask, “what’s the meaning to all of this?”

These are big questions, questions that require us to look towards the clarity and understanding of the universal Self, the source of all of this, of all creation. I’ve always loved to ask questions, because they create an atmosphere for the universe to engage with us, and if we’re willing to listen, to pay attention to the signs, we’ll be given the answers. Looking at the meaning of life, one can come up with several possibilities; perhaps to be happy, to experience what it’s like to be human, to fulfil a purpose, maybe it’s to be of service, it all depends on who you ask. There are some who would even say that life is suffering in and of itself, that it’s maybe even a form of hell.

Let’s try to look at life from a spiritual vantage point, from the quantum field. Life can take on an entirely new meaning when one’s purpose is found. When I say purpose, I mean soul purpose. Choosing the spiritual path, and by that, I mean the conscious desire to know and understand oneself, the meaning and purpose in personal suffering and how to end it, shifts one’s timeline, and points one to a journey that leads to expanded consciousness. As one allows the unfolding of consciousness within, each petal that opens offer some wisdom, some insight and some clarity.

What is one’s soul purpose? It’s to remember who you are in Source Energy. It’s to realize the illusory nature of the egoic mind, so that one can remember the true Self. Our soul purpose begins like everyone else’s; we come into this realm forgetting who we are by taking on an ego, which is fear itself. Identifying with the thinking mind, we come to accept and believe that that is who we are. Spiritual growth however, would prove otherwise. As you expand your awareness and mature spiritually, the first thing you’ll begin to do is question. You’ll begin to question your experience and reality itself.

Moving closer towards our inner being, we begin to choose to respond rather than react, we take up practices like meditation, eventually coming to a place where everything is made a meditation. Living moment by moment, in the awareness of inner stillness, we have communion with our highest self, Source Energy. Our consciousness merges with universal consciousness and our thoughts, point of view and awareness merges with All That Is. As the one realizes the reality of the soul, the illusory nature of the ego is revealed. One rises and the other falls, so to speak. This could be described as one’s awakening, the resurrection, the event of ego death so that one’s true spiritual nature can come to life.

Death, from a spiritual point of view, is not an ending but a new beginning for the soul. Life, from a quantum field point of view is eternal. Death, in this light, is transformation, change. Understanding the purpose in death, ego death, is to know that it’s the doorway to higher dimensions of consciousness. It’s the piercing of the veil, the action of rising above the conditioned mind into the awareness of the soul, and the highest self. Transcending the ego and the physical body, enlightened beings understand that the ego initially serves a purpose, and that’s to create suffering. And in that suffering we create the desire to not suffer-which is why we each have the potential to transcend and awaken to our spiritual nature. Looking at the physical from a spiritual perspective, the body is seen as a vessel, like a space suit that enables us to engage the physicality of this world. It’s seen as a gift, as is the egoic mind through an enlightened point of view, for it’s that suffering that created the atmosphere for awakening which transformed the ego from something dark and negative to something that is now only contrast to our inner light.

In the enlightened state, life has the meaning one decides to give it. Yes, there is a soul purpose but one’s moments, one’s daily life is witnessed through clarity but also with the colours we choose to paint it with. In other words, life has no true meaning except that which you decide to give it.

Insights: What Keeps Us Stuck

Insights: What Keeps Us Stuck

Perspective is everything and when we take a step back and look at our circumstances, how we feel, we begin to understand the “whys”. Lower energies, the past, the feeling of not moving forward in life, these frequencies not only hinder us but also separate us from our innate clarity. There is however, potential in experiencing these negative emotions and feelings, they can be harnessed as fuel for a shift, a quantum leap in awareness.

Change comes from the awareness offered through insight. If we want and desire to move forward, get past our energetic roadblocks, we’re going to have to go within and observe, witness and become aware of the things stopping us from living our best life experience. Quiet contemplation is a great way to start, because as you see something, it begins to come into focus, and you’re then able to identify it, give it a name, recognize it for what it is. It takes courage to face our inner demons, but know this: you are a lot more powerful than fear wants you to know.

Let’s look at a list of things that can keep us stuck as to create greater awareness and insight:

  • To start, our conditioning, what we absorbed and learned in our formative years is what has laid the foundation for the accumulation of emotion. Some are good and some are not so good; the not so good emotions are lower energies like fear, uncertainty and self-doubt.
  • The source of our conditioning, the egoic mind or ego, is what stores and remembers the past, because in essence, it is the past.
  • Fear. The fear of failure. The fear of success. Fear is an interesting thing; it comes in many forms.
  • Projection. The conditioned habit of focusing on our circumstances.

As human beings having a human experience, we take on an ego. This is not good or bad, it’s just what happens in this reality. And what the ego does, it collects and stores our experiences, good and bad, but here’s the thing; it prefers to focus on the negative because that’s what the egoic mind is in nature. Relative to the light of consciousness within us, the ego is our darkness. Understanding this is the beginning of self-understanding and allows us to look at ourselves with more clarity, from a spiritual vantage point. As the ego accumulates negative emotion, it grows in size. And as it grows in size, so does emotional pain. It’s this pain that prevents many from moving forward because the thought of triggering that pain or increasing it is essentially undesirable.

This is what causes avoidance; this is what creates the emotional roadblocks, stopping us from trying something new, or from taking the leap of faith and asking that person out on a date, for example. Growth, spiritual growth involves working through the emotions, the pain, being with them, acknowledging them, accepting them and then alchemizing and releasing them. In other words, anything that is being held onto is begging to be released, emotional or otherwise.

The past is what the ego is in essence and its nature is to project itself into the future. Be in this space for years or decades and the feeling can become one of feeling stuck. The endless circle of past and future is a carousel of emotion that offers no end in sight. The good news is there is a way to step off this ride and it’s the awareness of the eternal moment of now. The present is the key to moving forward, to rising above the past and future.

Fear is real or it isn’t depending on what you believe. If you believe in fear, then you’re identified with the ego. Growth starts with questioning; it comes from the awareness that fear is what we experience, not what we are. We are spiritual beings having an experience with ego, with fear. And the purpose in that is to experience the contrast in that, but eventually awaken from that dream and shift into the reality of who we really are-spirit.

Looking at and focusing on our circumstances creates frustration and that stuck feeling. There’s no power in this action. A more empowering approach is to realize that our current circumstances are only a result of past thinking, our past vibrational frequency. Understanding this enables us to change focus by realizing that circumstances are apt to change, they only need to be released in our minds through a new vision for our lives.

Becoming curious as to why we feel the way we do creates a doorway to inner change. It moves us out from 3D consciousness into 4D. It lights the fuse for change; sparks our inner light. Being unstuck is only a decision away, a vibrational frequency away. It begins with looking in so we can change our outlook.
